I think the question regarding grad teaching is, how do we move grad students who are TAs and instructors into the faculty/staff zoom group so they can be made alternative hosts - most instructors should be listed on the excel sheet Val recently shared. But TAs will likely have accounts (if at all) in the student group.

Important storage limit: move zoom class recordings off of Zoom cloud (2TB limit). What are the limits to Panopto or Canvas? Should they have sufficient storage for all spring courses, or is one preferred over the other for storage?

Do not upload video files directly to Canvas, each Canvas course site has a total file storage limit at 2GB. Panopto does not have a limit for a user or class. The limit is applied to the entire account and ATS doesn't expect it to be a problem in the short term.

Is it possible to invite someone not known to Uchicago to either one session or an ongoing set of sessions? EG: Fac from somewhere else as a guest teacher?

If anyone hasn’t used this feature, we suggest people use the ‘call me’ feature for dial in from phone…or the one click in the invite if on a cell.

I don't suggest video background, it takes more bandwidth. Some of your students will be on limited bandwidth at home.

W/ Catalina. In general.. I’d avoid any background unless you’ve got a green screen.. you’ll get pixel bleed around you when you move.

I love the virtual background. I can be on the Enterprise while I'm at work.

Any RAM requirements?

Does Zoom allow you to share your cloud based apps such as One drive Google drive?

On the subject of views, we have recommended that gallery view is useful for smaller discussion sections and not for our larger lecture courses.

If video is mpeg compressed (or something that works similar) limiting movement would reduce recording size.. like turn off auto-tracking on PTZ cameras.

Maybe it should be noted that on newer macOS versions screen share requires a change in the system security permissions, which forces the program to be closed. So, on first launch, a Mac user (on 10.13+ I think) cannot share screen. This should be calculated when explaining it to first-time users.

There is the option to upload to Panopto. Panopto creates transcripts that are searchable I believe.

Just to clarify. Direct upload to Panopto is only available for those in the Graham school account. Others need to manually upload to Panopto.
